One Great! maxim is, “You are what you do!” I was reminded of this once again on a recent trip to see my sister, Waynette, who takes excellent care of me in so many ways personally and in my businesses.
Waynette made this little needle point one day (September 22, 1991 to be exact apparently) placing our father’s wisdom in perspective against that of Socrates and Plato.
We all know who Socrates was and all the things he taught us. Ditto for Plato. Leo, however, was our father and the essence of his philosophy on that particular day was, like beauty, amorphous in the eye of the beholder and ear and mind of the listener.
Two things flow from this maxim logically, “If you want to be more, then you have to do more.” And, you have to do it and be it persistently. You have to do and be and do and be and do some more. With POWER (proceed only with every resource), FOCUS (follow one course until success) and CONTROL (critique oneself nicely to repair occasional lapses). Persistently, over and over again.
So as you GOTTABGATT!, go out there today and be Great! All the time! and, while you “be” doing that, hear the sound of the crooner, “DoBeDoBeDo.”
